This election is about representation and whether the North East is properly heard. For too long, party politics has taken precedence over the interests of the people it is meant to serve. I believe that needs to change. An independent MSP is better placed to hold government to account and provide a strong voice for the North East.
I understand that not every decision will please everyone. But decisions must be properly debated, clearly explained, and communicated in straightforward language. People deserve honesty and accountability,
not unnecessary complexity. Where decisions are difficult, they must be properly challenged. That has been my approach throughout my time in public service, and it will remain so.
After 19 years of one-party government which has too often focused on the Central Belt and paid limited attention to the North East, it is clear that stronger representation is needed. The North East requires a strong voice that will not be overlooked and will stand up for its interests clearly and consistently.
I believe in a Scotland that offers opportunity for all, where people can rely on a safe, healthy and well-educated society, and where economic growth enables individuals and families to support themselves with dignity and independence.
My approach is straightforward: to engage at a national level while staying firmly rooted in local priorities. To listen carefully, act responsibly, and focus on practical outcomes.
Above all, I will be a strong independent voice for the North East, focused, consistent, and prepared to stand up for our communities.
I believe progress comes from informed decisions, clear accountability, and shared responsibility.
